214  We Are Blessed to Render Service to God

I

We hear the word of the Son of man, and affirm that it is God’s voice.

It is God who speaks to us, and we’re so fortunate.

In eating, drinking, and fellowshipping God’s words,

our hearts are filled with excitement.

Oh! In attending the feast with God, we are raised before Him.

God personally waters and provides for us,

and we’re so happy to have God’s presence.

II

Our hearts long for blessings and rewards,

and we face the exposure and judgment of God’s words.

As if pierced by a sharp sword, our hearts are filled with pain and anguish.

Corrupt as we are, seeking only blessings

and entry into the heavenly kingdom in our faith,

how are we worthy of seeing God?

Oh! So many years of hope have all vanished,

we languish in pain and our hearts are broken.

God’s words conquer our hearts, we’re utterly convinced,

and we fall to the ground before Him.

III

Through the exposure and judgment of God’s words,

we see how deeply corrupted we are.

We’re filled with desires for blessings, truly unworthy to live before God.

We are unfit to enter the heavenly kingdom;

rendering service to God is already His exaltation.

Oh! By the grace of God we render service, and we’re so blessed to do so.

Whether I’m blessed or suffer misfortune,

I’m willing to render service with loyalty to the end.

IV

We feel truly unworthy to be able to render service to God this day.

Whatever our prospects, fate, or outcome,

we wish only to follow God to the end.

God’s words cleanse and save us, restoring our conscience and reason.

Oh! We’re willing to be God’s horses and oxen,

and to submit to His orchestrations and arrangements.

With all our hearts, we’ll render service to God for our whole lives,

and we’ll forever praise God’s righteous disposition.
