256  How to Recover the Lost Salvation

I

You asked how long I would follow You. I’d give my youth and accompany You forever.

A murmur that came from the depths of the heart shook the earth, set the mountains swaying.

I swore oaths with tear-stained cheeks but did not know my own hypocrisy.

With time, great changes dilute those old emotions, and the oaths become lies.

When we met, I rebelled. I’m unwilling to remember those old scenes.

Speaking of dedication but without loyalty has brought You greater pain.

Finally I understand that the price I paid was insignificant, I gave You empty words in return.

Waking from my dream, I worry for myself: how to recover the lost salvation.

II

All these years, much slipped by me, and I’ve gained so little. Who can I tell of the remorse in my heart?

In my ignorant youth You worked so hard for me, but without any gratitude repaid.

Rushing here, rushing there, I was not able to connect with Your heart.

We met by chance but without recognition, leaving even more regret.

Finally I understand that the price I paid was insignificant, I gave You empty words in return.

Waking from my dream, I worry for myself: how to recover the lost salvation.
